Nothing substantial (given this is out of my regular schedule, I'm sure you could probably guess that). I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the insight that you all offered me yesterday with regards to Wattpad.
I'm still on the fence on whether or not I want to use it, but I think I'm leaning away from it overall. The service seems more inclined towards younger users and I'm really just not sure how much it will actually contribute to the cause. Not to mention, the more spread out it is, the more I have to worry about things like ownership and control...and that's not really a fight I want to do.
Thank you again for all of your help. Don't forget to check in tomorrow for the next entry to Little Island Tales! It'll be up around 5am PST. ;)
Love you guys.

I probably won't ever use it as I just don't have the time to invest in another social site. Not a lot of effort required, but more than I can spare.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as someone who has no time already...yea. I feel ya.
DeleteCheck out Elizabeth's posts though ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI did! Thank you. :)
DeleteYep, we stray away as we don't want to put the time into yet another site.
ReplyDeleteRobert, I am sure you are making the right decision. I always go with my instinct and mine is telling me that you should follow your gut! If it will bring positive energy to your creative process than yes, if it will be a drain please let it go for now.
ReplyDeleteNamaste
I've heard a lot about Wattpad but as Alex mentions, it's another site that would take a lot of time. I have done that so many times!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about it but never went there.
ReplyDeleteTime becomes precious doesn't it? Time and energy. Whatever works for you.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. I think it is geared for younger readers.
ReplyDeleteI just read your post on Wattpad. I am a user and I haven't been on it for quite a while. Why? Because a) it did very little for me as a blogger/writer and b) I discovered Medium, which is ten times better. ALso, the Medium app is a hundred times better than the Wattpad one. The latter freezes on your phone far too many times for my liking. Personally, I see Wattpad as a teenager-focused and -driven website (lots of YA fiction on it. Nothing wrong with that, it's just that it seems to veer that way). Medium is run by writers for writers and you feel the difference. It's a more grownup website and app.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps.
Greetings from London.
Just maybe these few words of yours say's it all ...
ReplyDelete"I think I'm leaning away from it overall"
